Lakeview is proudly committed to protecting and preserving the natural resources and green spaces of the community and has worked closely with Prairie Restorations, Inc. in support of this ongoing goal. Green space preservation in Orono is just one of the many environmental initiatives that the community values. Conservation easement areas will be designated on each property lot in support of the dedication to green space conservation in Orono. These areas will be clearly defined and left undisturbed so we can all enjoy their natural beauty for decades to come.
Nearby Park
Lakeview Legacy Park is right next to the Lakeview Orono development. This green space provides a protected environment for native plants and wildlife and is easily accessible for all Lakeview Orono residents. Our community’s expansive prairies adjoin this scenic park, which features scenic overlook points, an 8-acre pond, walking trails and wetlands.
This natural escape is home to a diverse mix of plant life. Some of the trees you will find a short walk away from our community include:
- Balsam fir
- White and red pine
- Black spruce
- Red and sugar maples
- Quaking aspen
A few stone benches are located throughout Lakeview Legacy Park, each surrounded by stunning natural scenery. The park frequently hosts community events, which are a great way to get to know other Orono residents.
